Overview
The Saratoga, CA CERT program has over 180 trained volunteers that can be activited in case of a significant event. These trained volunteers can assist the Saratoga community and act as first responders to assist neighborhoods with search and rescue, light medical operations, radio communcations, damage assessment, and other functions. They can be the first neighborhood eyes to help the city and the Emergency Operations Center understand where city respurces, emergency resources, and other resources should be deployed.

CERT volunteers learn proper use of fire extinguishers, medical triage, victim transport, basic first-aid, head-to-toe assessments, building sizeup, and a host of other skills that might be called upon when the next large-scale evnt occurs.
